Early morning, big city

To mark my next visit to NY this week, here are some photos from my last trip in the summer. Getting a head start on the hustle and bustle of downtown NYC is a wonderful way to see the beauty in a solitary way. You feel like the last person on earth and it's awesome!

Walking along the highline though, I came across this little girl hangin out in her front window. These apartments are so oddly futuristic- very weird. The view is directly facing the hordes of people walking the path!

See you soon...

None of this is real- or is it?

If you blinked, you might have missed it. A couple of months ago in the cover of night, Teacher & Chod built a statement out of wood, paper and paint. It lasted for a couple of days and that's all it needed really. The little monument was set up on Melrose and appreciated by many a passerby. The walls are lined with bible pages and emblazoned with a huge "None of this is real" on all sides. Outspoken? Yes. Well crafted? Hell Yes! Thanks guys for adding an awesome conversation starter to the scene.

The Doors of NY

Sometimes it's the simple things! There is so much character and beauty in the city before the rush of people streaming out of the subway on their way to the office. Walking the cool morning side streets provides photo ops around every corner. This day last summer, the doors somehow stood out as my muse for the day. You just never know with New York.
