Fa la la and Merry ho ho ho!

The holidays always make me think about the things I'm thankful for. Photography is on the top of the list... well along with family, friends, health and all that good stuff! So I thought I would take this opportunity to post a little thank you to all my clients. This set is from July/Aug 2013 when I got to make gorgeous photos with awesome people. I couldn't be happier with all the fantastic work I had- and hope to continue having with everyone. Thank You!
Have a wonderful holiday season, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)

Ballerina in the big city

This summer, I had the immense pleasure of making some incredible art with a ballerina. Cassie was great. We braved the heat and the crowds and ran around Central Park in NYC for a good 2.5 hours. It could have gone on for 2.5 more, this was one of my favorite shoots to date. These are some of the winning images.
If you have a creative idea for a shoot, I would love to hear it! I'm always looking to get out and make something magical.

A foggy day

Winter is here.
On a recent weekend getaway to Solvang, CA, I was lucky enough to wake up to a lovely morning of fog. A brisk walk to the danish shop for breakfast with my camera and voila, foggy awesomeness.

Santa Monica Sunrise

If you can wake up early enough, the sunrise out here in LA can be just as beautiful as our famous sunsets. On a brisk Sunday morning recently I set out to see what the Santa Monica pier had to offer at 5:30am when the moon gave way to the sun.
A few joggers, fishermen and seagulls were the only ones out to welcome the day.
Simple things become much more photogenic during the solitary morning hours. Having a trusty tripod is the only way to really allow for all the colors and light happening.
Couldn't resist a bokeh gif either! How's that for a double whammy :) It makes me happy- and it's a pretty good representation of my hour on the pier.

Dia De Los Muertos 2013

November 2, 2013 was this year's Dia De Los Muertos celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It is one of those must see/do events if you are in LA during the weekend after Halloween. Day of the Dead is indeed a celebration, traditional dancers and food and music are enjoyed in honor of the dearly departed. Where else but in a cemetery right?
The following are just a small introduction to what there is to see and enjoy on this most enjoyable day.
Gorgeous costumes and elaborately made up faces make it impossible to not get a winning shot almost every time. This event is a photographer's playground!
